Beyond Skin Deep: What Our Mirror Is Missing

I think we are all familiar with this sentiment!
We all want to look younger than we are. I certainly do my best to be youthful and healthy inside and out. If you are reading this email, odds are you do too.

Last week, I came across a post on Instagram from Dr. Thomas Paloschi, a longevity physician, that really resonated with me. It’s a visual pictorial of what is actually happening beneath our skin’s surface.

Muscle changes. Bone density shifts. Arteries stiffen. Metabolism slows. Brain function becomes vulnerable…Often quietly. Long before symptoms appear.

According to Dr. Paloschi, we age from the inside out. If we are more focused on the exterior than the systems underneath it all, we may be looking in the wrong direction.

Here are some eye-opening visuals from Dr. Paloschi’s post showing what’s actually happening inside the body as we age, and what we can do to support it.

I’m happy to share that if you are a Mojo friend, you are already building many of these protective systems every time we shake it up together!

Most people think aging starts when symptoms appear.

It typically starts much earlier – when muscle declines, arteries stiffen, metabolic control weakens, bone density falls, and recovery becomes slower. Aging is often silent before it becomes visible.

Longevity is not about looking younger. It is about preserving function before decline becomes disease.

The beautiful, magical part of all this is that our bodies are always trying to work with us.

We just need to listen, keep fighting…and not let the old lady in.
