Mojo Friends,
Remember when jamming all night with MJ and Prince was standard weekend fare? I’m happy to announce that the trend is back and here to stay – that is, if our medical community has anything to say about it…
According to a study led by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and published in the New England Journal, if you’re interested in keeping your brain healthy, dancing is (hands down) the best activity you can do. Take a look at these stats!
% = Reduced Risk of Dementia
0% in Bicycling, running, swimming and playing golf
35% in Reading
47% in doing crossword puzzles (at least four days a week)
76% in Dancing frequently (notice the accent on “frequently”)
Dancing (Mojo!):
- Reduces stress and depression
- increases energy and serotonin
- Improves flexibility, strength, balance, endurance
- Strengthens bones and boosts cardiovascular health
- Increases Mental capacity by exercising our cognitive processes
- Dynamic and rapid fire decision making, creates new neural paths
Mojo may require a little extra time in your day, but nothing worth having is easy. It can be FUN, but it isn’t easy :-)
